Can you name three words you associate with human trafficking?

• Human trafficking is undignified

• Primitive

• Inhuman!

What do you think Denmark can do to prevent the development of human trafficking?

Denmark must lead the way and show that there is always a helping hand for victims of human trafficking. Places and people who have a mandate to provide safe environments and opportunities must be supported and strengthened. The light at the end of the tunnel must be turned up. It must always be worthwhile to seek help for people who are suddenly reduced to a commodity. Especially in Denmark, which has the resources to make a difference both domestically and internationally.

What do you think are the most important challenges surrounding human trafficking in Denmark?

I think that many people in Denmark don't really know that human trafficking exists. That it belongs to a distant colonial era or the world of fiction. We probably aren't aware of the real extent. And it's creepy. In any case, it's hard to believe that some people traffic in other people. It's a perverse and cold industry. And we must have put a face to the victims and the perpetrators and stopped the chain of misfortune.
