Kvinder og unge piger fristes af falske tilbud om en bedre tilværelse. De lokkes af jobannoncer, en tante i udlandet eller tager på egen hånd af sted i desperation for at finde en ny og bedre tilværelse. I filmen nedenfor er typiske tekster fra ”fristende annoncer” benyttet og på ca. 60 sekunder ser du, hvad der gemmer sig bag de finde ord – trafficking.
In their home countries, women may be in a situation of serious economic hardship, where they may have to feed small children, sick parents or a brother or sister, while the young women often have a background of great loneliness, for example due to abuse, life in an orphanage, parental alcoholism, incest or serious mental health problems.
Therefore, it can be tempting to leave their home country and seek their fortune in a foreign country in Western Europe in the hope of getting a well-paid job, for example as a housekeeper, a dancer in the entertainment industry or perhaps an actress. Many of the women believe that they know what dangers there may be abroad – and they are convinced that they can easily handle them. Therefore, the women often leave voluntarily and preferably with the support of their family.
It is therefore imperative that women and girls are helped, already in their home countries, to understand that their expectations may be quite far from reality.
