Or report it to this site www.politi.dk/da/hjaelppolitiet/rufferi_kvindeh/

If you are in contact with a potential victim of human trafficking, you should always refer them to—or contact—the Centre against Human Trafficking or other relevant authorities, ensuring the individual receives the appropriate guidance and assistance.

Victims of human trafficking may require immediate help. It is therefore important that you call if you suspect that a person is a victim of human trafficking.

Remember, it is important that we all make a difference!

Signs that women are victims of human trafficking may include, for example:

  • they do not know which city they are in

  • they are available 24 hours a day

  • they do not know the local language

  • they spend a lot of time in, or live in, the same building as a brothel or massage parlor

  • they appear frightened or unhappy, and may speak of escaping

  • they may often have bruises and/or other signs of violence

  • they are monitored and/or are always accompanied by foreign men

  • they provide unreliable or inconsistent explanations regarding their situation

  • the sudden appearance of many men and cars near an isolated building

  • several young, foreign women living in the same apartment for short periods, only to be replaced by other women

The above are just a few of the many signs indicating that women may be victims of human trafficking. It is also important to remember that not all foreign sex workers are victims of trafficking.

What else can you do?

  • Spread the message that human trafficking must not be tolerated and must be eliminated!

  • Support the police in their efforts to combat human trafficking

  • Help and support victims of trafficking

  • Advocate for greater political attention toward increasing funding for victim support services

  • If you are a client of sex workers, be sure to look out for the specific signs mentioned above

  • Take the time to become properly informed about what is actually happening. For example, you could start by reading the content on this site, visiting the websites of various organizations, or perhaps applying your skills as a volunteer for an NGO.

  • Read real-life stories about people who have been trafficked. This site features books, films, and personal accounts—resources that can help transform faceless, nameless statistics into human stories.

  • Share what you have learned on social media. While many people around the world are currently victims of human trafficking, we can make a difference—even here in Denmark.

  • You could organize talks or debates at your workplace, club, or school, or host an event within your own personal network. Many of the organizations listed on this site are happy to come and share their knowledge and stories.

  • Lobby your local politicians or write letters to the editor.

  • If you are a business leader, consider supporting one or more organizations as a long-term partner, or sponsoring specific initiatives and events. Engaging employees in the company’s commitment to making a tangible difference can yield many beneficial side effects within the organization.

  • Create a short, viral video that directs people to informational resources—such as this website or the websites of various NGOs—where they can continue to learn more.

  • Use your unique talents and ideas to find your own way to make a difference.

  • Whether you are a musician, photographer, marketing professional, businessperson, student, or brand builder—use your unique talents to help achieve a breakthrough in the fight against human trafficking.

  • Print the poster found on the homepage of this site and display it in relevant locations within your daily environment—just remember to obtain permission first.

  • Keep an eye out for—and attend—events, both large and small, organized by various groups and supporters. We list all the events we are aware of right here on this site. If you are organizing an event yourself, you are welcome to promote it here.

  • Donate funds to the organization(s) whose approach aligns with your own values. You can also donate items like clothing or furniture to organizations that need them for their work, or become an active supporting member for those that require such involvement.

You can always reach out to an NGO to find out how you can support them.
