Events in Denmark
Events – several with a lasting impact.
Since 2007, NEWLIVES has launched numerous campaigns.
Volunteers—all working without pay—have made a tremendous effort to make a small yet vital difference in the fight against trafficking and prostitution by raising awareness about the issue.
Initiatives have included staging the "sale" of women on Strøget (Copenhagen’s main pedestrian street) and distributing stamps and price tags—allowing people to "price" their partners. We have also produced and distributed countless printed materials and held numerous talks on the subject across the country.
Several of these campaigns have left a lasting mark and can still be revisited today. You can continue to download and display many of our provocative posters. You can also download the various films we have produced and help spread our messages against sex trafficking, prostitution, and "sugar dating."

International campaign
One of the major international campaigns launched by NEWLIVES involved the release of the semi-documentary film "The Voiceless Women," carried out in collaboration with the production company UITCH ISRATCH and with the simultaneous participation of 10 European NGOs. The film was screened concurrently in countries including Italy, England, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Cyprus, and Finland, as well as several Baltic states.
In 2019, the film won 15 awards, including "Denmark’s Best Commercial Film 2019" and an award at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, in addition to various honors in the USA and the EU.
The Voiceless Women is a harsh short film about how men who buy sex online can judge a sex worker as if she were a "steak" at a restaurant. See the movie here.
DO-IT-YOURSELF CAMPAIGN - All year round you can make a personal effort yourself.
Hang the posters in schools and universities so that you influence the attitudes of society.
Print out some posters and take a walk around the city's many cafes. Ask if, due to your interest in combating human trafficking, you may hang this poster. It can be in the men's toilet or inside the cafe itself. In this way, the cafe can also help make the audience aware that, e.g. Trafficking in women continues to be a problem in Denmark as well.
We know from experience that many cafés say yes.
Regardless of the year - you can personally make a difference by bringing the posters into play, so that people can see the cause by seeing the poster "Life as a trafficked woman".
Posters can be downloaded from the link here or directly click the image on the right.
